Mega Miniatures was founded by Johnny Lauck and produced metal miniatures from 2003-2013. The company was formerly known as Dark Ages Miniatures. Their catalog included older ranges from companies such as Grenadier Models, Archive and Hobby Products as well as their own original miniatures. Mega Miniatures ceased production in October 2013 and sold their lines to various manufacturers.

Company History
Mega Miniatures president, Johnny Lauck, had owned Discount Hobby, Inc., a small chain of hobby stores in South West Michigan, since 1985. In 1998 he sold off his retail stores to pursue selling miniatures by other companies online. By 2001 he had purchased the rights to several ranges and began casting under the name of Dark Ages Miniatures. Confusion in the industry between this company name and Dark Age Games, the makers of Brom figures, resulted in a name change to Mega Miniatures in 2003.
Discount Hobbies ran its own website, www.discounthobby.com, as well as www.dragglestown.com, before giving birth to www.megaminis.com in 2003 and then freeboardgamesnow.com in 2010.
Note: Johnny Lauck is a member of the Lost Minis Wiki and has been generous enough to allow a large number of images from Mega Miniatures extensive catalog to be used on this website.

Disposal of Assets
Almost all of the Mega Minis product lines were sold off with Johnny Lauck retaining the rights to only a handful of them. The vast majority of figrues appears to have been split between Armorcast, Center Stage Miniatures, Midlam Miniatures, Omni Miniatures, Splintered Light Miniatures and Turnkey Miniatures.
