Ferrero Commerciale Italia S.r.l. was founded 1946 in Alba, Piedmont, Italy by Pietro Ferrero. Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs with a toy inside them were introduced in 1974. Many of the toys were figurines and some were in metal in 35-40mm scale and can be mistaken for "regular" wargaming figures.
