Heritage was setup in 1974 by Jim Oden to manufacture Hinchliffe models in the USA. In 1975 they began producing their own fantasy models with the Earth of Olde series. In 1977, Heritage merged with Custom Cast as Heritage Models and in 1978 they acquired Battleline Publications (boardgames). In 1979, after the loss of some banking support, Jim Oden left the company and they rebranded as Heritage USA. Financial problems continued and they filed for bankruptcy in November 1982, closing up in March 1983.
