Minifigs was founded in 1964 by Neville Dickinson in Southampton, UK. Dick Higgs joined as sculptor. In 1973 Minifigs America was formed in Pine Plains, NY. Dealing mainly in historical figures they produced some fantasy ranges in the mid-1970s. In 1986 Minifigs became the UK manufacturer of Ral Partha figures. For a while Game Figures ran the USA production of Minifigs figures. Neville Dickinson retired in 1997 leaving Dave Higgs (Dick's brother) in charge. In 2009 the business was sold to Caliver Books.
