Steve learned how to sculpt from Duke Seifried and Stan Glanzer (the two of them had very different sculpting styles and techniques). Stan became known in wargaming circles for sculpting for Duke Seifried, doing 25mm Confederals, AWI and perhaps others, as well as 15mm Napoleonettes, Confederettes and others. Unfortunately Stan died in his early thirties. In April 1979 Steve moved to Dallas and joined Heritage full time. Much of Steve's time was spent finishing the lines Stan had started.
