Hi, we've got another odd Heritage one - the base reads 1498D and is ©81. It would seem to fit in well on the Knights and Magick Figure Sets page which has a "Warriors of the East" section. It is not listed in the 1981 catalog. Any ideas? I'm thinking of just putting it on the Knights & Magick page as an "unknown" figure. - Cattwister 22:42, 15 July 2022 (BST)

hm, interesting... my first reaction is to double check that that base photo actually goes along with that figure. Assuming yes, it could be an unreleased figure... but I haven't run across any discussion of unreleased K & M. I'll be interested if something pops up! Bedoingy 23:49, 15 July 2022 (BST)

Hi,

Reddit user gofigyur maintains a gallery of files for me to upload to the wiki. The following three Heritage/Custom Cast are a puzzle to me but you might know something about them:

  • what do you think of this figure in gofigyur's public gallery? That image and the next one which shows the base are clearly a version of 1420a An altered staff? Added book? Modified cloak interior? And then recast by someone or a genuine Heritage figure?
  • also this image and the next one for the base don't seem to match anywhere on the Heritage pages?
  • and this image and the next one for the base point to Custom Cast but I can't find it.

Hi, Always glad to help!

  • An ad in The Dragon from Dec 1980 shows a drawing of the figure that's currently on the wiki, which is identical to every image I've seen, so I'd agree that this one with the book is a modification and the original is what's currently on the wiki. Pewtercraft released many figures from the line so my best guess would be that this one with the book etc is a Pewtercraft alteration
  • the 2nd looks like Knights and Magick 1407c from a different angle. Several of the K & M bases were generally square with a top that I can only describe as "scooped" or with divots
  • oh wow, I don't think I have that one. It looks like the third piece from Der Kriegspielers Fantastiques 1053 Shirefolk-The Little People: Mounted Warriors. The rider looks small compared to the mount, and with pointy ears, and the bridle matches the set. I don't have a good image of that one, but I was given a collection of images years ago by... I can't recall at the moment... with an example of this on the bottom left. Here's a dropbox link for reference, but it's not my image to officially post on the wiki, 1053

Thanks! I see that we convinced ourselves the base was "1480" and not "1407"... :-D I will put the wizard on the 1420a image page as a likely Pewtercraft variant. -Cattwister 22:24, 14 June 2022 (BST)
