Waddingtons was founded as a printing company in the 19th century but it became a traditional family-boardgame manufacturer starting in 1922. It was best known for creating Cluedo, and for publishing Monopoly outside of the USA. Some games came with miniatures: including Cluedo and later fantasy efforts such as Schmidt Spiele's Dark World (UK edition, 1992). Their games division was bought by Hasbro in December 1994 and they moved it to London. The Waddingtons brand name still exists.
