Citadel's C08 High Elves series was first mentioned (sort of) in the Dragon Catalogue (1983) as "C09 Elves" and not "C08": that catalogue showed a head sketch of a typical High Elf with a feather-plumed helmet and the caption "coming soon"... but C09 instead turned into "C09/1 Wood Elves" by the First Compendium and then "C09 Dark Elves" by the Second Compendium. It was only in the Second Compendium (1984) that "C08 High Elves" appeared in its own right. These were all solid base figures that were quickly replaced by slotta-base figures in 1985 as shown in the Third Compendium.
